Know the Tsunami Terms

After an earthquake, a tsunami warning may be issued, but there are different levels of severity.

-Tsunami Advisory: An earthquake has occurred in the Pacific Basin, which may cause a tsunami

-Tsunami Warning: A tsunami was created by an earthquake and people in the affected area are strongly encouraged to evacuate.

-Tsunami Watch: A tsunami might have been created by an earthquake, but is still at least two hours travel-time away from the area being watched.
