For more than 40 years, the World Food Programme (WFP) has been the United Nations frontline agency in the fight against global hunger. In 2003 alone, WFP fed 104 million people in 81 countries, including most of the world's refugees. Donations on behalf of the victims of the tsunamis in Southern Asia will pay for emergency food distribution in the hardest-hit areas.
